The Atlantic: Here Comes the Neighborhood
(There's a special section in The Atlantic on The Future of the City.) This article is interesting, though it focuses too much on a New Urbanist perspective. We're plain, old Urbanists; we prefer revitalizing existing cities over building new suburbs or even dense Edge Cities. Plenty of small cities in the Northeast already have great rail service yet exhibit poor planning around their transit riches. And many of them are at half their peak populations, so could easily accommodate much higher populations.
